Hello. I’m Michael James.
& bótani was founded in June of 2019. One day, I woke up to the early morning sun kissing my plants in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. I realized that some of them have been by my side since I moved to New York more than 10 years ago. They’ve grown with me and have provided an atmosphere I missed. Over the years, memories of my mother caring for our house plants were clear and I remembered nurturing as a remedy. So after dealing with everyday stress, I decided that an emphasis on care was important to me. I needed to exist in an atmosphere where I could nurture as a remedy. New York City can be chaotic but plants and wellness products help us unwind, heal and connect!

I decided to start the company out of the need to connect with nature and create intentional mind setting with the use of home products as an aid. New York City can be a chaotic place. Why not offer an outlet to unwind and connect to our origins. Plants and wellness products can do this for us.
